Brief Description:
Students from Oberlin College were involved in SNCC’s early history and established a Freedom Center on their campus. Members of this Friends of SNCC chapter worked with other universities in the Cleveland area on projects including picketing the Hammermill Paper Company. Oberlin College students worked to recruit Freedom Summer volunteers, and some of them went to Mississippi themselves.
