Brief Description:

Measure for Measure raised funds and supplies through connections with other local groups and demographics. This group worked with Maxine Franz, a member of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. This connection enabled the group to raise funds through a bank account publicized in the newspaper so that any concerned person could go to the back and deposit money. The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom members also contributed food and clothing for locals and books for the Freedom School’s library. Mary Sue Gellaty kept Maxine Franz and the other women informed about the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party election and other activities. Measure for Measure also worked with local artists and in the prison.
